Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, booking a consultation, purchasing a book, or applying to offer consultations on Lotsy (the “Platform”, operated by Lotsy Digital Limited), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. Clients agree to these terms before booking; experts agree to them before submitting an application to offer consultations.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be able to form a binding contract to transact on the Platform.

3. Payments

All payments are made up front through our payment processor (Paystack) in the currency shown at checkout. We verify the amount received against the amount due and may decline a transaction on mismatch. Prices for consultations are set by the expert; prices for books are set by their author.

4. Expert consultations

A consultation booked on Lotsy includes:

A private 1-on-1 video session at the scheduled time;
A recording of the session and an automated transcript;
A review & dispute window after the session (see sections 5 and 6).

Reschedules are not currently supported through the Platform. Cancellation terms are described in your booking confirmation and are being finalised; where a paid session is cancelled, any refund is processed back to your original payment method.

5. Reviews & moderation

After a completed session you may leave a rating and written review within the review window. Reviews are submitted for moderation and only count toward an expert’s public rating once approved by Lotsy. We may reject reviews that contain abuse, personal data, spam, or content unrelated to the session. You may choose to post a review anonymously: your name and photo will not be shown publicly, but your identity is retained internally for moderation and abuse handling.

6. Disputes & mediation

If something went wrong with a completed session, you may raise a dispute within the 7-day review window following completion, provided the expert’s payout has not yet been settled. Raising a dispute places the expert’s payout on hold for Lotsy to mediate. Lotsy will review the available evidence (including the session transcript) and either release the funds to the expert or refund the client.

7. No-shows

If an expert fails to attend a confirmed session, the client is entitled to a full refund and the expert’s payout for that session is withheld. If a client fails to attend, the session may be treated as delivered at Lotsy’s discretion.

8. Expert payouts

Experts keep the majority of each booking, less Lotsy’s service fee disclosed at application. Earnings from a completed session are first settled to your Lotsy balance once the review/dispute window closes with no open dispute, and are then transferred to your bank account through our payment processor. Disputes and no-shows hold or withhold the relevant payout as described above.

9. Recordings & data

Consultations are recorded and transcribed to support quality, moderation and dispute resolution. Your use of recordings and personal data is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Platform, including by attempting to defraud other users, circumventing payments, harassing experts or clients, or infringing intellectual-property rights. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

11. Intellectual property

Books and materials remain the property of their authors and are licensed to you for personal use only. The Lotsy name, logo and platform are owned by Lotsy Digital Limited.

12. Disclaimers & liability

Consultations reflect the views of individual experts and are not professional, legal, medical or financial advice unless expressly stated. To the extent permitted by law, Lotsy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Platform.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated, and continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
